The Mac
macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, with Apple silicon.
It cannot run on macOS 13 or earlier. This is not a recommendation — it will
not install.To check: Apple menu → About This Mac. You want macOS 14 or a higher
number, and a chip whose name starts with Apple.
ProPresenter
ProPresenter 7, with its network setting switched on. That setting is off
to begin with, so it is a step you have to do — see
ProPresenter.
ProPresenter can be on a different Mac on the same network if that is how your
booth is set up.
Audio
An audio interface, with the lead singer on their own channel.
A main mix will not work. The whole band is in it and the singing gets lost
underneath.
If two or three people lead together, you can use up to three microphones.
Network
None, during a service. It works with the wifi off.
You need a connection to download it and to activate it the first time. After
that ScreenShepherd checks its subscription when it opens, and keeps running
for a week if it cannot — so a week of bad wifi is not a problem, and a service
never needs the internet at all. See Licence and account.
The voice it listens with is inside the app, so it is ready the moment it is
installed — it never has to fetch anything on the day.
Space
Allow about two gigabytes for the app. Most of that is the voice it listens
with, which is why it needs no internet on a Sunday.
Each service also saves a recording, which is why it is worth quitting the app
afterwards rather than leaving it running all week. See After the

Screens
One screen works. Two is better — the operator’s and the congregation’s — so
ScreenShepherd’s own bar never appears in front of the church. See
